Burg Giebichenstein
University of Art and Design Halle
29. - 30.10.2025
We were invited by Guest Professor Henrik Löser and Artistic Associate Isabell Bilfinger Unzueta to conduct a two-day workshop with the students.
Given the short timeframe, we decided on a hands-on approach.
We began by observing staircases as transit spaces. Although they are usually places of movement, some stairs offer a particular atmosphere — even the potential to become places of rest or contemplation.
Within a short time, the students developed small interventions for different stair situations, carefully considering the specific location, the flow of movement, and the architectural conditions.

Furniture construction Course at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle
Summersemester 2024
During a full-semester project, we worked with students from the Foundation Course in Interior Architecture on the topic of storage furniture, with a strong focus on construction and detailing.
Doors, drawers, and various opening mechanisms were explored and developed.
The material of choice was MDF — a familiar and widely used material in furniture making, and a great starting point to explore different board materials and their characteristics.
For students with prior experience in woodworking, we also introduced metal construction, with a focus on sheet metal techniques and connections.
